Donna Portman
Business Process Lead – Shared ServicesDonna is part of the Shared Services team at Abley and is responsible for providing administrative support to the wider business and engaging the team in continuous improvement. As well as being the lead for health and safety, she also looks after the day-to-day operations in our Auckland office.
Donna began her career in retail management in the UK where, after completing internal training, went on to support several stores to improve compliance outcomes and customer experiences through the implementation of business strategy. As time progressed, the opportunity to open a new concept trading model arose, and Donna facilitated the recruitment, training and operations required to successfully open and trade the store.
A move to New Zealand in 2005 allowed Donna to engage in some volunteer work and she was heavily involved in fundraising activities at her local school as well as completing two terms on the school Board of Trustees, which included being part of a wider team working with the Ministry of Education during two new builds at the site.
In 2014, Donna took on a Business Operations role with a small but developing organisation and supported their growth through the creation and implementation of business and operations processes and rolling out initiatives to simplify the integration of other businesses into the wider group. Donna has experience in all areas of project support, administration and management and has a particular skill in problem solving to facilitate getting things executed well, with a focus on ensuring the customer, be it internal or external, is considered every step of the way.
Donna is an avid fan of podcasts, particularly true crime and self-development, and enjoys time with her friends, family and two chocolate Labradors.
