We’re a specialist New Zealand-owned professional services consultancy. We operate from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and deliver work throughout NZ and further afield including Canada, the USA, Brunei and Australia. Most of our clients do work for local or central government or are significant corporates.
We are known for our technical work in transport planning, engineering and spatial technology fields. We are increasingly delivering our work with a technology first approach and embracing standardised services and data products. This includes product development both through SaaS and raw data supply formats.
As part of this technology first approach, we are trading overseas and exporting our knowledge and solutions. This means we need strategic advice and understanding of this global marketplace, with an eye for productised services and potential acquisitions which align to our growth plans.
Skills/Competencies
Ideal candidates will have some or all the following:
- Significant governance experience, with the potential to chair in the future
- Experience expanding into international markets from New Zealand
- Experience with software development and product management
- Experience with overcoming the challenges of developing and selling software and products for new clients in new markets
- Strong commercial acumen including M&A
- Experience overseeing organisations during a period of growth and technology change
- An innovative, entrepreneurial and sustainability mindset
- Ability to hold to account.
Commitment required: The Board formally meets face-to-face quarterly for one day with an additional day for strategy review once a year (typically alongside the Q2 Board meeting). The Board also meets via Microsoft Teams 2-3 times per annum when needs be. There are no sub-committee meetings.
Term: Indefinite.
Location: Meetings generally rotate in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as needs suit. The successful Board member will be based in New Zealand. No particular centre is preferred.
